📖Story of the Day
An ordinary pastor arrived in a small town to serve in one of the local churches. A few days after his arrival, he took a city bus to run some errands downtown. After paying the fare and taking his seat, he noticed that the driver had given him 25 cents too much in change.
A battle started in his mind. One part of him said, “Give the 25 cents back. Keeping them would be wrong.” But the other part argued, “Come on, it’s just 25 cents. Why worry about such a tiny amount? The bus company handles huge sums of money — they won’t miss it. Think of it as a little blessing and enjoy your ride.”
When it was time to get off the bus, the pastor handed the driver the extra 25 cents and said, “You gave me too much change.”
With a smile, the driver replied, “You’re the new pastor, right? I’ve been thinking about coming to your church. So I decided to see what you’d do if I gave you extra change.”
As the pastor stepped off the bus, he had to grab the nearest lamppost to keep himself from falling and whispered, “Oh God, I almost sold Your Son for a quarter.”
