🕊️ The Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I’ve carried so much — silently, tightly, and for far too long. The pain I didn’t talk about.

📖Story of the Day

A man once brought home a butterfly’s cocoon and began to watch it. In time, the cocoon started to open slightly. The newborn butterfly spent several hours trying with all its strength to push through the tiny opening.

But nothing worked, and eventually it stopped struggling. It seemed like the butterfly had gotten as far as it could, and it simply had no more strength left to continue. So the man decided to help. He took small scissors and carefully made a little cut in the cocoon. The butterfly came out easily. But for some reason its body was swollen, and its wings were shriveled and curled.

The man kept watching, expecting the wings to expand and grow stronger — strong enough to lift the butterfly into the air once its body settled into its proper shape. But that never happened. The butterfly remained with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It could only crawl; flying was no longer possible.

In his kindness and haste, the man didn’t realize one thing. The tight cocoon and the struggle to squeeze through the narrow opening were part of nature’s design. Only through this effort does the fluid from the butterfly’s body move into its wings, preparing it for flight the moment it breaks free.

Very often, struggle is exactly what benefits us. If life came without challenges, we would remain “crippled.” We wouldn’t grow into the strength we’re capable of. And we would never learn what it means to fly.

“See,” the friend said, “maybe you’re making God feel the same way right now.”

📖Why This Prayer Matters

Because we were taught to keep going no matter how much it hurts. To be strong, even when we’re breaking.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

Stay aware and stay prayerful,

Mama Raya.
